The exotic turkish lamp

I fall in love on the first sight of this lamp. A gorgeous exotic design. The bronze camel is carrying the lamp with veils of white, blue and red beads. When it is lit, beautiful shadow is cast, creating silhouette around the surrounding.

The Man with the snake

We bought this artwork from a small claywork shop in Valencia, Spain. Not sure what its inherent meaning, since the shop owner was not able to explain so. However my hubby was taken by its evil look of the snake, as well as the tribal feel of the man.

Chinese Cheongsam

What is so intriguing about the Chinese Cheongsam, Qipao, is that its subtle elegance and feminity in its charm. I am crazily in love with its close fitting cutting, yet I never have the chance to clad in this oriental beauty, since it only works for slender and tall people. How I wish to the figures like Nicole Kidman or Zhang Zi Yi......:(

Vietnam Cyclo

Cyclo is an unique transportation in Vietnem. It is a 3 wheeled vehicle with a bicycle. The passenger will be sitting in front. It offers easy, cheap and aesthetic transportation to see the confusing, sprawling cities in Vietnam. Above illustrates a little red beauty, a miniature cyclo, which I bought from Ho Chi Minh. Don't you find it lovely?

Wine & Winery

One of my favaourite archi works, though it was never realised in real life. I am always inspired by the image of wine and wine bottle which is strongly related. The wine bottle can take a variety of forms, and the curves of the bottles and tones produces by the glass blowing process can be works of arts in themselves.
Through the design process, the organic shape of the wine bottle is interpreted into a large predominantly large building containing lounge or a restaurant, or even an art gallery overlooking magnificent view of the surrounding vineyards and landscape. The wine bottle form extend further for other parts of the winery, flowing into and integrating with water features, landscape courtyards and garden.

My Profile:)

Born in Asia, love its culture, deeply enthralled by the mystery of Asia history, inspired by the nature, I want to see and revamp all things in different light, and to reinterpret and recreate things to give them a different feel and meaning. I love Asian works, for they being sincere, rich as well as original. Not to be bound by its tradition and conservativeness, and to be free from all constraints, I want to re-create the neo-Asia handiworks under the EastHaven.
There is still a long way to go, however I will enjoy all these moments that are consumed with wild passion and craze to do the things I like to move on with life! After all, life is what you believe in what it will be! Immerse in small delight everyday and you will even find yourself delightful…:)
Maybe you may share the same passion as I do?
Cheers to all who love handiworks!

RE-interpretation of Tropical Architecture

One tends to relate tropical architecture as traditional and conservative design. However in the design for the Surabaya Riverwalk, I attempted to reinterprete it in a de-constructive manner, by giving the traditional kampung house on stilts new look, with the use of innovative sun-shading devices. It adds interest along the riverwalk with different use of local materials, as well as kioks to create nodes along the promenade.

My School: Asian Architecture, Research Centre

I love using louvres, verandah concept in my building design, which is clearly illustrated in my drawing. Looking back my previous works which were mostly hand drawn, the designs exude a different flavor and connection with the designer, as compared to the computer drafted drawings nowadays.

The Most Photogenic!!!

Don't you agree that this Mystique Hana simply is the most photogenic out of all? I would say that it itself presents as an artpiece.
