Modern Tropical Architecture

Contempory Tropical Architecture: it is no longer just the greenary or the verandah. In the modern contect, airconditioning in certain areas are allowed to overcome the heat, noise, dust and pollution of the city. To me, it is more of offering a place of retreat and refuge to the owner, with the use of duality in the planning arrangement to give openness and enclosure, as well as use of natural tropical materials to offer the sensory qualities at home.

Above shows one of the first high-end residential project I was involved in planning, designing as well as managing. Indeed a great experience for me.

I use this lovely pouch with intricate embroidery in loctus to house my I-Pod. Isn't this simply the fusion of the West and the East?

Etsy, the community for handmade products

I have not heard of Etsy til I happened to browse it last week. It is a pity that I have no idea of its existence til now, since it is a community full of creative artists and unique products. I got to know many people who share the same interest and passion as I do.

The Ancient Orient Man

Since young I have been intrigued by the mystique and richness of the Ancient Orient. Though I do not really go into the field of the history of the ancient orient (since it is simply too complex for someone like me to comprehend most of the profound stuff), I always like to look at the different artworks, scuptures and relief introduced in the book.

I drew this figurine with inspiration from the book of 'The Art and Architecture of the Ancient Orient' at the age of 20. However I have forgotten which was the exact artwork I have drawn inspiration from.

With the second look of it now, I couldn't really relate its look to any of the common figurine I have seen in the Ancient Orient.

The Flower Man

So how you guys find this motorist? I was simply stunned when I saw him along the road!!! Ha ha, he was fully dressed in sunflower as well as the motorbike. It is simply hilarious!
Though it is pretty weird to have this flower fashion statement, the sight did brighten my day and uplift my mood. As I always believen, out of conventionality effectively helps to spice up our monotonous daily rountine.
Regardless of the above statement, I have to admit that I do not have the courage to dress and wonder around the whole Singapore island like he does.

My Versatile Mystique Hana!

You know what I like most about the Mystique Hana design? Other than using its eye-catchign unique design as a bag, I use it as a decor to do up my room. Just look at the picture that you know that it is simply gorgeous!!!

My friends are even more innotivative. They get a couple of them and use them as sofa pillow! Due to the silk material as well as the exquisite design, they create a cozy and nice ambience of it.

They even suggested to me to go into the field of interior design accessories. Hee, not a bad idea...... Can call it 'the Easthaven ID shop', ha ha!!!
